The vision intervention at Westlake United Church Trust was a collaboration between Spectacle Warehouse and the Rotary Club of Constantia. The initiative focused on providing free eye exams and prescription glasses to the Westlake community, thereby improving the quality of life for individuals with visual impairments. This project is part of the Trust’s broader health and wellness support, which includes audiology, maternal health, and elder care programs. In total, 83 readers were fitted and dispensed, 13 people were referred to Spectacle Warehouse for full testing and prescription glasses in the new year, and 6 individuals required cataract or other procedures and must go to Groote Schuur Hospital.
