About Rotary Constantia
The Rotary Club of Constantia is a leading Cape Town Rotary Club, chartered in 1978. It is a Club within Rotary District 9350 which administers Club in the Western Cape, Namibia and Southern Angola.
The Club has an active membership of 17 consisting of retired and younger working-age folk who actively network within the professional groupings of the club and other clubs at home and abroad. They select to become involved in projects in which they have specific interest. They may freely choose to lead a project or be a member of the team.
What sort of projects? Well, there have been a great many in which millions of rands have been invested in hospital medical equipment, special needs schools, creches, children’s hospitals, children’s holiday camps, food security and peace projects.
One of the great things about Rotary is being able to seek project support from other Clubs, other Districts and the Rotary Foundation based in Chicago; truly international! These contacts lead to business and social networking opportunities.
The Club meets on Tuesdays at 1900 for about an hour or so using the Fynbos Bistro restaurant at Stonehust Mountain Village, Westlake as its venue.
Meeting in the evenings, the Club has selected a venue which provides meals for a reasonable price. The Fynbos Bistro provides an excellent 2 course meal for us and as the Club is obliged to place orders for meals, we need to have confirmation of attendance.
Members and guests meet in the bar and meetings are held in an adjacent room.
An atmosphere of conviviality surrounds the evening. Members raise pertinent issues and then its either an evening of Rotary business, or a guest speaker or a fellowship evening with partners. Members are encouraged to invite partners and guests to speaker evenings.
Why not become a Constantia Rotarian?
It’s a simple process and membership is open to adults from all walks of life. It’s a great way to put something back into the community.
